Music Study Resources?
Hey guys. Ive been looking at many of the lessons and videos out there that try to teach you different guitar techniques. Ive never been trained in any way musically, i can wail but i dont know the names of many of the things i already know how to do. For instance, i know when i do sweeps its actually called an arpeggio. Also i have no idea what music theory is, i mean, whats the theory about, we know its music, no theory there
but i dont even know what it is or what it teaches you. I'd like to learn some of the names of the technique (what the hell is stacadio?) and perhapse some theory. I've memorized the notes on the fret board but i hear people talk about 3rds and 5ths and things like that and i'm not positive what they mean, i'm figureing its a 3 and 5 note of the root. Anyway, are there any good resources that could teach some of these things? I'm looking for something usefull and somewhat approachable for someone who doesnt already know these things, but i also didnt need an encylopedia on the info either, just some general info. |
