bump. I fucking love this band. I just got my hands on their 1993 release Splendor Solis. I can't believe how modern this album sounds, even for a 15 year old disc. badass stuff.

I have a real hard time picking my fave album of theirs. Make sure you listen to "Transmission"too, where they really decided to break away from the more classic sound of Splendor Solis and The Edge of Twilight, by mixing that sound with more tech-y NIN type stuff. Please see below...

Babylon:

Temptation:

And one of their best songs, Release:

One of the best live albums I have heard is a bootleg show Jeff Martin did early last year here in Australia in Perth (where he lives for half the year now) where he did stuff from the Tea Party and his solo album with just him and another multi instrumentalist in a stripped back, acoustic style. Needless to say Jeff also plays a 7-string resonator made for him by Aussie luthier Andrew Ellis, info below:

http://www.ellisguitars.com/jeffmartin.html

Sorry for the info overload, I am just a massive fan and have been listening to these guys religiously for the past 13 years...

Transmission is what got me into them. The first vid in this thread is Psychopomp

I love their unique grooving sound with the crazy instruments and Martin's great low register vocals.

Heaven Coming Down is my current favorite song of theirs, followed closely by Sister Awake. I love the 12-string Rickenbacker-through-a-tube-amp sound they have going for them in Heaven Coming Down.

Plus, doing hardcore screams in a ballad = win

Damn sorry Vince, missed the first vid

Heaven Coming Down rules, but I will admit that Triptych is when I fell off the Tea Party bandwagon for a bit, their output became less consistently awesome from that album on IMO. But they still ruled.... and Jeff Martin's "Exile and The Kingdom" is equally amazing.

Wild! I just started listening to these guys again after..a long time.

I got to see these guys play in Laurentian University's (Sudbury Ontario) cafeteria for 20 bucks to 500 people while i was there in 1997. These guys put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Nah they put out a couple of albums after that Vince. The Interzone Mantras was pretty cool cause it has "Angels" and "Requiem" on it, but Seven Circles was a departure in that it was very "rock" and didn't have much of the Eastern stuff (from memory, I haven't listened to it for years).

They put out an awesome EP after The Edges of Twilight called "Alhambra" which is definitely worth tracking down too.

I found this too which is pretty damn cool... go to the 8 minute mark to see him playing an awesome 7 string
