Getting Back to Guitar Full time (please read + offer advice input)

well im not really sure if anyone remembers me bar some of the older members, but i was a frequent poster here , about 1/2 a year ago i started the worst thing ive ever done, no not drugs......i entered the lands of azeroth and outland, otherwise known as the world of warcraft,

at first i noticed no change, but as the level in wow got higher my guitar skill level got lower, ive ended up playing all the time im not eating/sleeping or in school and my skill is at an alltime low guitarwise,

i need to pick myself and gruadually just stop playing the game that hase become a curse on my life, but i dont know where to start again to get back into the practice routine,

now dont get me wrong im no guitar noob its just technique has gotten sloppy and feel has gone with lack of practice,

i could really use some advice on how to get back into it and quit playin for good,whcih is where you guys come in i know some of you have gone through this and was wondering how you got off it

Ha! Damn, if you're serious... that sucks! LOL. Jeez... well, I've never had that exact problem, but i would say don't take it too seriously. If you'd rather play a video game, that's cool. It's your time, not someone else's.

It may help to think about the fact that WoW probably won't be as big ten years from now. There will be a new hot game. But guitar will still be the shit. Think of it as investing your time wisely?

But, heck, I wouldn't sweat it too bad if I were you.

Dude, you're 16, don't worry about it. Do what you want now cause trust me, in about three years time a lot of choices get taken away and you will have plenty of people telling you what to do. Everyone tells people of your age "You have to get ready for life now, or you'll be a deadbeat loser!"

That's bullshit. At this age, do what you want.

Me and my friends usually play together, and we're collectively taking a break right now to play different games and do other stuff.

Well, if you play retail, just keep reminding yourself that your paying for a Runescape with better graphics and more assholes.

Haha, I'm kidding. You really need to crash your internet. Last time my internet crashed I just sat there and practiced for lawdy knows how long.

Same thing happened to me about 2 years ago. Luckily, I still was able to play guitar atleast an hour a day

I quit before the expansion pack, and after clearing MC 200 times, BWL 150 times, AQ40 100 times, etc....It got very boring, plus my grades in school were dropping. Raid times sucked, 7:30-2:00 usually, and 3 1/2 hours of sleep isn't enough for me.

So I decided to play casually(casually for me would be raiding 3 times a week). This gave me time to do other things, like playing guitar more often, or going out with friends or whatever. That was way more fun than WoW was, so I stopped playing completely.

A lot of my friends have the same problem, a few figured selling their accounts would make them quit. Nope, they ended up buying new ones a month or two later. I realized playing WoW was a complete waste of time, and I figured, you only have one life, and a limited amount of time in it. What time you waste can never be made up again.

When i used to play WoW, i always sat there with a guitar in my lap and when i was doing menial shit like crafting or waiting for party members or whatever, i'd just practice stuff.

WoW didnt last once i moved up here to school at UF, but i'd love to get back into it at some point.

I didnt play the guitar at that time...

My friends still play, I dont...

im in a raid guild atm 2nd/3rd best on server apparently.... and raid times suck tbh

im of an extremely competative nature so when i see my guitar buddy getting better and me not i get pissed off ,
