![]() ![]() | No one mention Isaac Albeniz???? I thought he was great, he added spanish influence in his music. A song that is popular is "Asturias" (Leyenda) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | me too! not sure why... ermmmm. i'm not really well-versed enough in classical music. which is weird because my dad lives, eats, breathes, and sleeps the stuff... Maybe that's exactly why. but i just watched Fantasia a few weeks ago and that reminded me that i can definitely enjoy the style. (Though most of the music from fantasia i believe was contemporary stuff from the 30's?) i think i need to take a course on the history of classical music or something like that. cuz i think a timeline and some background would help me understand better what these guys were doing in their day and how it made an impact that way. ![]() | Of course he was great otherwise he wouldn't be a household name more than 200 years after his death. It'd be cool if people explored other composers as well as just the big names though. There was a lot of cool stuff going on during the turn of the last century. I just started listening to Leos Janacek recently and he's ridiculous. I dunno, I like Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven but it kinda saddens me that those are the only names people seem to know and sometimes I even think they're just thrown out there so people can pretend that they're really into classical music (not saying that's necessarily true of this threat). |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Never really got into Mozart. For me it's Beethoven -> JS Bach -> Liszt God damn do I love Liszt. My favorite Mozart piece is Piano Concerto no. 20 or 22. I'm not sure. I remember it's either directly before or after Elvira Madigan. ![]() |
