Question Name your fav guitar solo pieces

Ok, name the artist and the song that has the piece you like, or if the whole song is just guitar, whatever ....

I'm gonna go look in my itunes, but for now I have to say:

Enter Sandman by Metallica
One by Metallica
Eruption by Van Halen
For The Love Of God by Steve Vai

from the editors of Guitar World:

100 Greatest Guitar Solos - Tablature for the greatest guitar solos of all time

"Dahling, you are made of Win!"-ZeroSignal

"Wonderfull, I just misspelled 2 different languages in the same sentnce, that has to be a record."-Desecrated

"...then a giraffe hid behind the cabbage and the car fermented itself into a polar bear and now I don't know where my keys are."-Desecrated

"True my son, follow the teachings of the white goat and the holy land will come to you."-Desecrated

DT - Hells kitchen
Guthrie govan - Ner ner

I love a lot more, but those are the ones I can think of right now!

Van Halen - "I'm the one" the second solo just smokes
Steely Dan (Larry Carlton) - " Kid Charlamagne" one of the best ever.
Nevermore - "Born" the more I hear it (and play it) the more I love it.
Satch -"Flying in a Blue Dream" love the dreamy Lydian phrases he connects
Megadeth- "Hanger 18" Friedman just fucking wails on that whole CD.
Vai - "Windows to the Soul" incredibly moving piece. this is the song that got me into Vai.

Can I be the devil on your shoulder?

Fantomas is a jewel in the rough
Vai-For the Love of God and especially the one that is recorded on the first G3 album, that's beyond awesome, seriously it doesn't get any better than that (well for me ) . Although the version he did with the Metropole Orchestra in Holland rocks as well.

No need to mention anything other than that because he is in a class all by himself.

a shitload of Petrucci stuff... if i had to name ONE from him it'd be "In the Moment" from An Evening with John Petrucci and Jordan Rudess. It's like a 6 minute guitar melodic piece. It puts me in a fuckin trance.

that and these:
Ozzy Ozbourne/Randy Rhoads - Crazy Train and Mr. Crowley
Pink Floyd - Time
Rush - La Villa Strangiato (there's like an atonal kinda jam in the middle)
Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love
Metallica - One

Don't you mean to say Allan Holdsworth? Ask Vai, he'll tell you AH is untouchable

On that note, Allan Holdsworth - City Nights. Untouchable genius.
