I bought an acoustic guitar

Hey Vince, your post inspired me to fix my acoustic last night. I abused it this summer by leaving it in a non-air conditioned part of my apartment. Long story short: 90 degree temps and 100% humidity = an acoustic that now needs a neck reset! Seriously, the action went from as low as possible without buzzing to >5mm. So I filed the saddle down to next to nothing and it's good to go again!

Right on dude, that's awesome

I think the action on my new acoustic might be too low. I had some buzzing when recording last night. I'm gonna try a heavier string gauge and see if it fixes it.

or you could shim the saddle
