Opeth's "Damnation" is seriously good.

That is all.

I was advised NOT to make this my first Opeth purchase, so I wouldn't think they were a "Damnation" sort of band and have trouble getting into their heavier stuff, but I finally grabbed this one the other day. It's gorgeous, this sounds a lot like the album that's kinda been putting itself together in my head for years now.

The six of you, give or take, on the board who don't listen to metal need to buy this immediately. The rest of you who do need to as well, if you don't already own it.

Now you must experience the Lamentations DVD.

The first set is the Damnation songs. After the first song, Mikael addresses the crowd by saying in his very chilled demeanor, "We'll be playing 2 sets tonight. The first is the mellow set. And the second set (small pause), will be a bit heavier." (The crowd goes wild)

The second set is all the heavy stuff from Blackwater Park and Deliverance. After the first song of this set, again in a very chill voice he says, "For those of you who have never seen Opeth before, THIS is what we REALLY sound like." (Again, crowd goes wild)

Incidentally, I'm seeing them and Nevermore on the 30th.

$15 at some club in like Worchester, I think... That's absurd. I don't even particularly LIKE Nevermore, and that's still a steal.

awesome, i really like the few things ive heard from this. actually, i like to descover a band and then get into the heavier stuff later, reverse succession lets me usually save the best for last

sit back and absorb the nevermore. I suggest you check out some songs off of Dead Heart in A Dead World (Once agian, if you want, i can send ;p)

I want this album now lol. Opeth are incredible. My favourite band by far. I started on Blackwater Park and didn't think you could get better.
