Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of hardcore influences, but there's much worse things than the breakdown. They could of spoken over the intro, "This goes out to all my cats over on the Eastside that have stayed hard and true over all the years... K.S.E. '07, down for life!" That would have just sucked.
Rap intros always made me laugh. My best friend and I used to make joke raps that would start out like, "This is the remix! 1999! Eric and Chad comin' back atcha! What? What? What? Uh huh! Yeah! Uh huh! Yeah! This goes out to all you homies on the westside! Yeahhh. Here we go. Uh huh. The L-Town Crew. Old-school style. None of that posin'. Stayin' true to the posse. Say whaaaat?" and this would go on for a few minutes without the song ever actually starting.

You mean how Biohazard did on their cover of "After Forever" from black sabbath? "This is Biohazard givin a shoutout to our boys in sabbath, brooklyn new york, NINETY FOUR MOTHAFUCKA!"

I was like "Wow, that was incredibly gay."

Im not a fan of this cover. I VASTLY prefer holy moses' version. To each their own though.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

It's not just you. They use Caparisons and Boogies, although they used to use Framus Dragons. That sounds like a recipe for great tone to me.

I would say at donington(download festival) joel got the 'tone of the festival' award. It was beautiful. I was stood on the hill with my mouth wide open, occasionally raving to my non-guitar playing friends "OMG can you hear that tone!!!!!"
