I saw this guy a few months ago. He uses a wide array of techniques when he plays and that second video is more melodic, but the rest are just like all flash to show off the fancy diddle stuff he does. Personally, I think his rhythm playing is pretty crappy compared to the lead stuff. He plays some pretty interesting licks but the rhythms are just underwhelming and bland.

I think one of the merits of being a good instrumental player is having a balance between good rhythm and lead playing. Satriani is an amazing player because his rhythms and chord changes and such are just as inspiring as the lead melodies. George Lynch is a fantastic lead player, but his rhythms are very predictable.

He's better than most crap on youtube though, so I'd give him an 8.5 or 9 out of 10.

I didn't like it at all. Pretty bad tone, and their was some areas with a lot of slop. The flashing with all the un-needed techniques being used wasn't nessacary imo.
