The vocal production was very poor, and Billy just didn't sound right...

Bad vocal production is the LEAST of Billy Corgan's worries.

(to be fair, I think his voice works well with the music)

I think he's usually pretty good at writing to suit his voice. The single isn't bad but it's never going to be as good as Siamese Dream. I think he/they ought to give it a rest personally. Need I mention Zwan?

EDIT: Actually, after listening to the single I now have the Soft Cell version of Tainted Love stuck in my head

I love the Smashing Pumpkins, but this is a really bad song IMO. I will still buy the new album, I'm sure it will have some good songs on it.

Not a bad tune at all, I like it actually. Nothing will ever beat Siamese Dream IMO, it has remained one of the best albums to ever come out in the 90s and has always been of my favorites.

I've only heard "Honestly," but it was a pretty damned good pop tune, IMO. And regardless, you have to admit it's far and away one of the most warped/coolest lead breaks you've ever heard in the genre.

Corgan's probably the best soloist to come out of the 90's grunge/alt scene. You can tell it's him from the first note.
