Neuraxis Appreciation Thread

i picked up this:

On wednesday. I didn't know what to expect. It looked all like prog metal with the like cursive script album title, on the back, it had 'scifi' looking fonts and a really prog looking picture. so i was expecting something like a bad labirynth rip off. Nope. HOLY FUCK. it rules.

Their vocalist is insane like lord worm. Their guitar tone is br00tal and old school like all your favorite Florida death metal. The lyrics are all scientific-y like Nocturnus, but not about going back in time to kill jesus. There's also parts that remind me of Demilich a bit too.

The guy who wrote all the music on the disc dedicates all his work to Jason Becker, too \m/

Yeah, this band is pretty damn good, progressive death like Aghora or Alarum or something, but not really fusion-y, death metal all the way. I don't really hear much of a Demilich connection, but they rule too.

The demilich thing comes from the vocalist on that disc. he sounds really guuuurgly at times, which is what i love about Demilich. Apparently, its the only album he's on. i listened to their myspace songs, and they dont have that quality anymore. But i figured it was worth mentioning.

I think i found a new fav. Technical Death Metal band.

Its worth mentioning, on their myspace, the 2 disc version of "Truth Beyond" Contains their third album on the first disc, and the first and second albums on the second disc and only is 11$.

Trilateral is the best of their albums imo... well truth beyond is good too....

Didn't know they were gigging that much tough... Man those shows must be awesome!!!

If you think Imagery is good pick up "Truth Beyond". You won't know what hit you. They have evolved big time. Don't say I didn't warn you. Pick it up now!

I'll have to look into getting that. By the way, Ken, ever pick up Nocturnus' Thresholds yet? I've been enjoying that album alot lately.
