BLABBERMOUTH.NET - Guitarist PETER LINDGREN Quits OPETH; Replacement Announced

Initially I wasn't really interested as I don't really like Opeth, but their choice of replacement intrigues me, I really wouldn't pick him for a strummy sing-along kinda guy.

Holy shit...this is horrible, Mike is now the only original dude left. With Martin and Peter gone I don't know what's gonna happen.....Opeth changed the way I view music and opened me up to so many different types of music, I hope Mike can still carry the torch and continue writing good music.

Me too...now Scott looks just like that dude who USED to be in Opeth.

I hope that with Peter gone, the music won't be affected too much, and I hope that the new guy is versatile.

Opeth has always been the Akerfeldt/Lindgren combo....I'm not sure how much music Peter contributed but there, there's always a certain vibe with musicians like that

Well, the next album is going to be very interesting. New drummer, new guitarist, new vibe. Even if Mike is the mastermind, the other guys will still influence things
