Yet another Rush thread
Man, Snakes & Arrows is AWESOME, and it's got me digging up all my old Rush CD's and listening to them all the way through.
What a killer band. 2112 = Still the best, imo. |

Were seeing them when they come around to Houston. I'm glad they tried new things on this album. Far too often you find older bands trying to revisit their older material and you end up with carbon copy themes and composition. Rush definetly made something new with this cd.

Yeah, the new one is really starting to grow on me. That's what I love about Rush, their stuff always has so much depth and takes repeated listens to reveal all of the nuances & finer points. I'll be catching them this summer, I've seen every tour since Moving Pictures in '81. Cant focking wait

I was a bit down on Snakes & Arrows at first, but I'm very happy with it now. It's a "grower." Definitely the best guitar production that Alex has had since, oh, Moving Pictures.

Well seeing that my Rush thread was a complete failure...
I really like Snakes and Arrows. I think the second song is my favorite at this point, but all of them appeal to me. I think it was Jacksonplayer who made a good observation that there just isn't enough riffs on this album, but I still feel this is the best thing they've done in a long time (since Test for Echo at least) And I agree Alex has some great tones on this album. Although I would still like to hear some keys on this album. I know Alex hates them, but I feel there were a couple songs they would have worked on. |
