Any Morbid Angel fan here?

Maybe you know that I'm a Morbid Angel fan... they influenced to play guitar. I think they are the best death metal band. I think their best album is Gateways, very catchy, moody stuff.

Anyone else like them?

I've been a big fan for years, although my favourite albums from their back catalogue are 'Covenant' and 'Formulas Fatal to the Flesh'. 'Gateways' is very underrated though.

I visit the Morbid Angel fan forum too and yes, they don't like the Gateways album much... I don't know why... I think that's the most complex album from them.

i'm a huge MA fan, i think covenant is definatly my favorite, god of emptiness is just the coolist fuckin song

I like Hatework and a bunch of other songs they have. Mostly stuff off of Domination. That's my favorite.

Im gonna check out some more but I love "Domination"... Songs like "dawn of the angry" are so fucking heavy...

Trey Azagthoth is one of my biggest metal influences, I love his 32nd-note rythyms, always intricate but never wanky. The first four albums are essential death metal releases and the other four have their moments as well. I wish Pete Sandoval would drop the over-triggered drum sound though, it really is terrible.

I agree to a large extent. I greatly prefer the drum sound on their earlier albums.

Well I realy don't hear the triggered drum, so no problem with that, it's very tight and clear.
