Anyone else here sick of Dimebag?
I've had enough. Ever since he has died hes getting the Kurt Cobain treatment. I just don't get it. Hell, look at Dean now. Unfortunately Dimes death has been the greatest thing to ever happen to Dean. Am I the only one that thinks he's overrated?

While I agree with you that Dean has taken it too far like throwing his name around like a toy, he is not an overrated guitarist. He was amazing for what he did, and he didn't deserve to go out like that.
It's the companies fault you hate him. |

I'm not a huge fan of his but the man kept metal alive when it was all but gone.
That, and he seemed like one hell of a cool guy. If anything, I would have loved to have sat down and had a beer with him. ![]() |

Am I sick of Dimebag, No, never.
Am I tired companies pimping him out, maybe. Things seems to diminishing as time goes by, at a rate that's to be expected. Ask me in 5 years, perhaps you'll get a different answer. |

And I don't think Dean is using Dimebag's name to capitalize on anything. They were really close. I got to meet Dean Zalinsky after his death he seems like a real genuine guy. Really down to earth. I think Dean is just trying to honor the man in the best way he knows how. It may be a bit overboard, but they were like family. Dime started with Dean and ended with them.

I was never a Pantera fan, but that had entirely to do with Anselmo and his no-talent grunting. Dimebag certainly had talent and a unique style. Has the whole tribute thing gone overboard? Not for me to say.

I think the merchandising aspect has gone way beyond reasonable, but then again, it wasn't much better when Diime was still alive. I've never really liked Pantera but I'd say in this day and age they were easily the most influential metal band around.
