Guy I knew back in college saw Metallica on the RTL tour in a small theater in Portland. He said it was insane--they played FFWF *faster* than the album version.

They used to play everything faster. If you watch the live DVD, they up the pace on Creeping Death significantly.

Glory and praise to Thee, Satan, on high,
Where Thou didst reign, in Hell where Thou dost lie,
Vanquished, silent, dreaming eternally.
Grant that my soul some day rest close to Thee
Under the Tree of Knowledge which shall spread
Its branches like a Temple overhead.

Ride The Lightning is my favorite Metallica album and "Ride The Lightning" is my favorite Metallica song. I love playing that song. I used to cover about 5 songs off Ride The Lightning.

Great album. It has influenced me so much. I was in sixth grade when I was introduced to it in 1987, it changed my life. It is probably my favorite Metallica album and most definitely one of my all time favorite albums.

People complain about ...And Justice For All having non-existant bass but I think this album is worse 'cos the bass is just loud enough to hear that Cliff is ripping but too indistinct to make much out. Bah!
