What did Children's Services tell Eddie it would be a really bad idea to take his 15 yr old son on tour?

I'm to the point where I'm reasonably certain that Van Halen will be just like Guns n Roses. There will always be talk about new music and tours but nothing to show for it.

I'm with ya. I have HUGE respect for what Ed has given us musically but it seems he's had his peak.

I didn't RTFA but I can only assume there was a general lack of enthusiasm from much of the public about this "reunion" with Wolfgang replacing Mike.

this was expected. i knew dave and ed would never be able to coexist on the same stage again. just sad. its time for these guys to call it a day. i've had enough of these bullshit schemes over the years from the evh camp.

I thought I read that the contracts had already been signed etc... Guess you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.

They must have been close to doing it for real, though. The article links to a pic of the 'reunited' lineup taken for Rolling Stone magazine. Wolfie doesn't look much like a fat little kid anymore. Probably not a good idea for a 15-year-old to have his first gig in an arena, though.

I'm going to take a wild guess that money is the hang-up. It usually is.

I bet Ed wanted to pay Dave like he was just a hired gun on tour, and Dave (rightfully) felt that was unacceptable to someone who was part of the band's meteoric rise to the top.
