Just throwing this out there, but no joke; Brian Setzer shreds the pants off of many so called "shredders" out there:

Part of that personal opinion stems from the fact that he has much more interesting chord voicings that he solos over.

Some of Fred Brum's youtube vids are mind-blowing. I bought his last album and I'm really looking forward to the new one. I really like these vids:

The AMT pedals really impressed me in that first vid, and the Alumitones sound awesome in the second one.

I don't know what it is about this band, but seriously amazes me. I listen to it mostly when I'm pensive or if I need noise when I'm studying (I hate silence).

I hate to say it, but I don't really find PII that amazing. I thought the first album was ten times better, but to each their own. It seems I'm the only one that feels this way.

Glass Cloud and the new Contortionist however is pretty awesome.

Definitely the new Testament album, "Dark Roots of Earth"

And the new Kreator album, "Phantom Antichrist"

I do reamps at affordable rates. PM me for details. 5150, Diezel, Marshall, Mesa.
(No amp/cab sims BS... real amps, real mics, real treated studio space.)

Reviews have been a little mixed, how does it stand up to Formation of Damnation?

Longtime Testament fan here, and I would venture to say it's slightly better... but maybe on-par with it. It's different though. I would almost say it's heavier and trying to appease old-school Testament fans, as well as newer Testament fans from "The Gathering" and "Low" era. It's Testament, it doesn't disappoint. The production on it is phenomenal... Andy Sneap did such a kick ass job on it.

I'm not one to buy an album purely based on reviews though... because everyone has different opinions and what you think is good music vs. what someone else thinks is purely subjective. So if you like Testament, buy the album and you will love it.

But if you do base all your decisions on reviews, this review is pretty good:

The second I heard this I was just into it instantly. The whole album is good. It pretty much bridges the gap for me of stuff I like between heavy guitars and old school classic rock I grew up on thanks to my family. THe heavy guitars are there and that element of 70's rock is in there also. It's a great combination.
