I usually love Vai.

I also usually love Dimebag.

I don't at all love that I was just listening to Vai and could have sworn the whole time that I was listening to Dimebag.

Nice, it has been a while since he produced some new songs. (Real Illusions: Reflections in 2005) and this sounds fresh. Can't wait.

I just wished he used the whammy bar more in that song

This has a massive 'Ultra Zone' vibe to me... fun and over the top

I love how Steve manages to produce new material that doesn't sound like any of his older work. I'm slowly getting into him more and more as I listen to more of his stuff, and I definitely want to pick up this album now!

Its a pretty nifty song. I really like the Massive sound hes got here. but i have 2 questions.

WTF are "plantable seeded postcards"?
and why is he doing a Duran Duran Cover? I realize that "John the Revelator" isnt a Duran Duran song. i know they covered it. they just popped into my head first and i thought it was comical.

That was kind of all over the place but I dug it, reminded me a bit of that one song where he goes to class as a little kid and plays guitar and makes the teacher angry. I cant remember it at all atm though

Like that- really nice groove. I'm going through a big Vai phase at the moment, so this has come at the perfect time! Will be pre-ordering once it turns up on UK seller lists..

"The Audience Is Listening"

I'm startin' to think he's using a Whammy pedal in the down-1-step mode. Coming back up, there's a couple spots where he's playing more than one note and they're all in tune with each other, wouldn't work with just a whammy bar.
