Spin's top #100 guitarist list. You will cringe.

Did a search, didn't see anything. Looks like it was published last week.

SPIN's 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time | SPIN | Best of SPIN | All Time

Ok, now even though SKRILLEX tops the list at 100, make sure to go through the whole thing. #1 blew my mind... I mean, FINALLY, a legitimate top 100 list.

lol, hendrix is nowhere to be found on the list. Which threw me for a loop. I mean Kerry King made the list so they're obviously aware of metal to some degree, but still they seem to be missing about 40 people who are typically associated with these lists.

Yeah, doesn't surprise me. Spin is all about the alternative rock, so they're not really looking for ability or pushing musical boundaries (although some, like Thurston Moore, could arguably be considered as that). Cute picture of PJ Harvey on the first page though!

I'm wondering how many people who seem thrown off by this list even bothered to read the accompanying text. It says right in there that they're going for left field choices, "innovators" and such.

I guess they should have just done the same exact list that everyone else makes when they do one of these; then, people could bitch about reading the same list they've been reading for the last 20 odd years.

The list has Justin Broadrick on it, it is, therefore, the best "greatest guitarists" list ever.

The only ones I find fault with are the ones who don't play guitar (Skrillex and JMJ), not because I don't like their music, but, because, while I get what they're going for, they're not guitarists. Have guitarists you feel are innovative, don't just throw innovators on there that have the slimmest of logic connecting them to guitar.

It doesn't matter, My list is the only TRUE list. Spins list is a FALSE list. It is not TRUE like mine, therefore it is FALSE.

death to FALSE lists, those that are not TRUE like MY list.

Thats what this shit sounds like to me.

The only opinion I have is that Hendrix is overrated and he never deserves to be #1.

Let the hate begin.

I'm going to make a list of worst lists. The big surprise? That something could actually beat out the Rolling Stone 100 best guitarists list... but this is definitely #1. This list is utter hipster shit. I need to bukkake the writer.

I'm a lover… Not a fighter... But I'm also a fighter, so don’t get any ideas.

What a stupid list.

Don't get me wrong, there were some good players in there, but the guy who made it droped the most random names in the most random positions.

Seriously that list was total garbage. Don't get me wrong there were a lot of great players in that list, but to have those in the top 100 greatest guitarists ever is ....ing absurd. That list was so damn random I am surprised I didn't see my name on there lol.

Skrillex was on the greatest guitarist of all time list. Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, Joe Satriani, Eric Clapton, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, etc. were not.
