Music that still gives you goosebumps & makes yoru heart beat faster

So I was in the car this morning on the way to work and just before I am about to get out the car on comes the opening chords to Purple Haze.... I must have heard this track a million times and yet, the hairs on my arms stood up and the goosebumps started..... Hendrix, you little monkey! You done it again!

So what tracks still do that for you? The ones that no matter how often you hear em they still make you feel like you're 14 yrs old and hearing it for the first time!

Another for me is Still of the Night that always gets me like that too!!

Personally, Living Colour's Cult of Personality never gets old to me, it always makes me happy, it always makes me smile, I just love the whole groove and riffage of it.

Blind by Korn is also another example. I always get pumped with the "Are You Ready!"

Becker - Altitudes

Clapton - Wonderful Tonight

Pink Floyd - Any Colour You Like

I stopped listening to Skynyrd years ago after growing up in the south and hearing their hits every half hour. That being said, when I catch "Call me the Breeze" on the radio it always gets to me.

Non guitar/metal track that always has me is Tony De Vit's The Dawn (Paul Jones Remix) incredible dance track that and Yoji (formally Yoji Biomechanika) remix of T99's Anastasia, ....ing amazing, everytime

Def agree with Blind by Korn and Here to Stay too is the same. Solace of You or Love Rears its Ugly head (album verison) are the two Living Colour tracks I could listen to forever....

Drowning by Brett Garsed

Pretty much all of the Wish You Were Here album by Pink Floyd... particularly Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
beneharris and brynotherhino like this.

my friends band, at 4:00 just as the guitar solo comes in, mainly because when i saw it live one time, the guitarist just dominates playing better and perfectly live and everyone in the room and in the pit was just jaw dropped and overwhelmed with how tight it was live.

The word "still" is what throws me off, here.

Generally speaking, it only happens to me the first time I hear whatever the song is. Once I know what to expect upon repeated listening(s), the goosebumps are gone. For some reason, the element of surprise seems to have the most impact in this context, for me.

Too many... powerful music is my forte.

EDIT: Assuming you meant happy music (it's hard to tell--goosebumps and heart rate can refer to a plethora of emotions) I'll also put the one song that stretches my face into a big dumb grin every time:

Maynard's long scream in The Grudge still gives me goosebumps. Don't listen to them much anymore, but that one still gets me.

Also, Maynard's part in Passenger by Deftones.

The chorus to Crosswind Minuet by dredg.

About 24 ....in' Led Zeppelin songs. 10 Years Gone's intro, most of Kashmir, the really awesome bends in Since I've Been Loving You, etc.

When Jimi Hendrix yells "ALL ALOONG THE WATCHTOWEEERRR!!"

More recently, The Contortionists's epic parts give me goosebumps every time.

The transition back into the chorus, from ~5:30.

The 'running' section, from ~17:34. Particularly that synth at 20:49.

Yeah, Chains have a lot of magic moments for me, as do Tool. Picking Chains songs is hard but Your Decision would be one right now. Tool, the mid-section of Schism, unreal, the end of Prison Sex.

Opeth- Face Of Melinda, always gives me chills. And Pain Of Salvation, Undertow. That's all for now.
