Recommend me doomy metal like this
I'm looking for some doomy deathish metal in this sort of vein. Good production please, nothing that sounds like it was recording with a shitty little 15watt.

You listed bands with three different approaches to doom.
Way to make things hard..... good production, I had to get that one in there. Extreme Syncopation =/= Poly-rhythmic |

Mournful Congregation are one of my favorite bands, worthy of a mention even if they don't sound like Ahab, Conan or a Storm of Light.

I don't have much to add, but I've been really digging Encoffination lately.

So far I'm liking Ufomammut and Queen Elephantine. I want stuff with fatter production though guys, moreso in the style of Ahab and A Storm Of Light.

Loving some of the suggestions in this thread.
Esoteric's Maniacal Vale is still my favorite peice of doom ever. Hell, one of my favorite albums all genres confounded. hint: All seven songs on the album are this good.

In the vein of A Storm of Light, I guess. Post-rock/sludge heavy stuff.
These guys are doom giants. If you like Conan, I assume you've already heard their split w/ Slomatics and their latest album, Monnos, but I'm going to post it anyway because it's so heavy. I can still feel my organs vibrate from their gig 2 weeks ago. Slomatics.. Well, if you're heavy enough to do a split with Conan, you're heavy. Horn of the Rhino perhaps? Don't let the man-beast penis on the cover demotivate you... Not really doom but since you like A Storm Of Light I guess some "post"-y material would be OK. Not sure if it's Youtube compression ....ing up or my speakers but on CD/Vinyl all of these sound a hell lot heavier. Grab the CD or whatever and play them over your surround set. |

The Atlas Moth too maybe.
Also thanks for this thread, I've been wanting to expand my palette beyond strictly sludge stuff |
