2012: Burzum, Summoning, and Gorguts

Burzum:



Fallen was better than Belus, which wasn't very good.
I want Varg to, like Beethoven, produce something riveting before he croaks or quits (whichever comes first). Unlike Fenriz, I still think he has a chance to release something cool. Good chance this will be a redundant album, but who knows?

Summoning:

Due at the end of the year, according to the band members. Last album was great, and Summoning is extremely consistent. Looking forward to it.

Gorguts:

I put Gorguts in here, because I am anticipating the album. However, they stripped info from their site and won't say anything. That's usually a sign of conflicts with the record company... never a good thing. The album may not see the light of day, unless I missed some critical information.

Varg always struck me as a bit of a hack and his ability to weave any redeeming qualities into his compositions seems to have left him during his stint in jail, if not long before.
I'd like Summoning so much more if their drums didn't sound so much like midi, hopefully that's rectified on the new album since musically all of their stuff has been pretty good.
I'm not optimistic enough to believe the new Gorguts will be released this year, if ever, but it would be fantastic if it were.

Gorguts played a new song or two live. Would be a shame to see their material go to waste.

I'm not sure what else is coming out that I would care to hear. I have been pretty inactive when it comes to checking news lately.

Well, Varg is a piece of shit, so who cares. Gorguts is ....ing awesome and I would love something by them, I asked longstreth about it when I saw him with Origin last August and all he said is he cant say anything but its definately happening...which is kind of a useless statement

Was never really a Berzum fan so didn't know much about him other than the church burnings and murder.
I was reading an interview in guitar world where he basically said he doesn't like the fans nor being popular. Sounded a bit douchy.
Is he a nazi? or does he hate them also? Or does he just only like himself or not even that?

We have a local guy who looks like a decade older version of him, and this guys as racist as they come
(recently found out that his daughter has a mixed race child and this guy disowned her over it).

I refuse to support Varg after his recent rambling and utterly shitty albums. I've heard the new one and it's 'decent' background music. Had it playing and took me 15 minutes to remember I had put the new Burzum on.

Summoning is brilliant and I'm really looking forward to hearing it.

Varg is churning out the same stuff as he was 15/20 years ago, while the rest of the world has in the meantime seen bands like Drudkh and Deathspell Omega blow him out of the water. He's a parody of himself, rapidly releasing shit albums to a diminshing audience.

And his worst sin of all? Not the fact he's a racist, but that he's a BORING racist. At least with people like Terreblanche or the BNP there's an air of genuine menace and lunacy about them where you know they could send someone round to kick your head in. Varg looks like he works on a goddamn tourist board, indulging in Graveland tribute photoshoots at the weekends in between meeting in a wooden hut and eating mutton out of a cauldron with other like-minded nationalists, waiting for Terrorizer magazine to give him their monthly phone call.
