![]() | I was there too Guest appearance by Randy Blythe (did some vocals on In Your Face). Good stuff. The sound was great. Gojira slayed (even though the crowd didn't seem all that receptive). Alexi's playing was mostly spot on tonight. Janne was incredible; he made his parts seem so effortless. Last edited by NDG; 12-14-2006 at 03:55 AM. |

![]() | Another local guy? Cool. Yeah, I thought Gojira was pretty tight. The first band was pretty forgettable, and I wasn't a fan of Amon Amarth. Fucking Janne was unbelievable. I wasn't aware that he played 90% of the solos (and by how short he is). The fact that he can play like that and still front is mind blowing. Loved the rotating laser lights. A lot of energy, too. I hate metal bands that just stand there and swirl their hair around. |

The solos were pretty much all by Alexi and Janne, but a lot of the leads (in intros, bridges, choruses, etc.) were by the other guitarist. I had always thought that the lead guitar in the intro of "Children Of Bodom" was by Alexi, but it was actually by the other guitarist (was his name Alexander or something like that?) Children of Bodom was very badass live. They played everything very energetically and close to the album version. |

![]() ![]() | I saw them in LA this past weekend, definitely one of the best shows I've been to, simply because of Gojira. I left during Bodom's first song, because they suck, and I was already completely ear-raped by the aural assault that is Gojira. Tighter than fuck and put on a great show. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | wow, this many people from this board in the twin cities? I, of course, missed this show, as I usually do, because I'm at work, as I usually am ...although Gojira is why I would've gone, COB is my cue to hit the bar or beat an early exit to beat the masses; I find there stuff repetitive, boring, cliche, just not what I want to listen to. Ya, their guitar players rip, but that's about it, the writing leaves much to be desired IMO. |
