is it just me or does mike smith sound like a total cocky asshole?
and he mentions that he didnt even listen to death metal when he left suffocation, or even pay attention to them.
thats pathetic.

Take DM for the music. Othewise it a bunch of scenester drama just like all other genres. Thats what ive found to work the best.

i think its bullshit.
and i love suffocation so much...
edit:atleast its just the drummer, if it was their guitar player talking that way theyd lose a fan.
second edit: maybe i take my death metal a little serious.

One of my all time favorite metal albums will always be Effigy Of The Forgotten, to this day the album still inspires me.

Pierced From Within is alright but Mike Smith is on Effigy so that's a plus.

The interviewer is actually kind of adversarial. He calls Mike "old" and "old school". He implies that they lacked the inspiration to come up with a title for the album. He asks a loaded question about why they "attach less importance to the bass".

And it goes on. He basically asks Mike when he's going to finally hang it up. It's one style of interview to ask tough questions, but I prefer to read interviews that pull out a lot of interesting information.
