"Dead Air For Radios" Appreciation thread

http://youtube.com/watch?v=-uHXyTAkx9I

Seriously, how good is this album? Kevin Moore's solo debut under the name Chroma Key, after he split from Dream Theater, and arguably on par with his best work in DT. It's a radically different album, though, more of a dark twisted pop album than prog metal, relying heavily on washes of keyboard, sampling, judicial use of noise, and sparse drumming and guitar.

Brilliant stuff - I don't know if the above is an "official" music video, but it's certainyl abstract enough to be Moore's work...

"...and everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon."

I remember posting that video in the electronic music thread. I love it, but I can't seem to find the album for sale anywhere.

I've only seen "Graveyard Mountain Home" for sale, and it's totally different than the song "Colourblind".

Now I lay me down to sleep
Blah, blah, blah my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
I'll go to hell for heaven's sake

Click the "Audio" link - you can buy CD's there. You can also buy "download editions" with high-bitrate mp3's and all the artwork included, at a discount (and with occasional bonuses - I've been meaning to grab the "Colorblind" single since it comes with a bunch of unreleased demos not on the physical single).

And, even cooler, you can stream them at CD quality off his website, for free.

I think Dead Air For Radios is just an awesome album without a weak song on the entire CD. I really have not felt the same way about any of his other solo albums though.
I'm just glad we have OSI, which to me is the perfect blend of Jim's prog and Kevin's total original sound and style.
