Sample of me playing...
OK...after more spending more than a year on these boards, I've yet to provide you with a sample of my playing...
In an attempt to remedy that, here's a short clip of me jamming over the chord changes from Pat Metheny's 'Bright Size Life' (I think my fourth attempt at those changes). I'd originally just recorded this as a practice aid, and whilst it's not perfect, it's one of the few times I've listened to my own playing several weeks on and not recoiled in horror... Hope you enjoy...constructive critcism welcome! http://www.sharebigfile.com/file/307...anges.wav.html |

Hmm I got it fine!
Love it man very tasty! Not a lot of people can pull off soloing on clean like that. I know I can't Admittedly I'm no expert on playing over jazz changes but that sounded very accomplished to my ears. The little sweep/rake bits sounded really cool. Nice going!

Awesome man, I had my hopes high up there, and the clip delivered
Very cool! Only criticism I can offer would be that the pauses (and general phrasing) in the solo started feeling somewhat repetitive towards the end. This could be something you were shooting for, so I dunno--take it as you wish. In any case, impressive Jazz soloing over changes is one of the hardest things to do on guitar IMO, and so major props!

Very cool! I'd like to hear more of this jazzy stuff, see where else you go with it. This is some of my favorite type of guitar playing, and I can hear the Metheney in there.
![]() 1. More mids. It sounds a bit too scooped, IMO. 2. Is there away to compress it more? It's no issue, but it sure seemed odd to have a 10 MB file for about a minute's playing. Was it raw .wav format? Excellent work! Boost the mids, and gimmie some mo'. http://www.wolf.org |

Awww! Cheers guys!
I'm really hoping to study this sort of playing in a lot more detail eventually, but unfortunately uni is really cutting into my practice time at the moment. Need to spend more hours with a fakebook when I get a chance...Sorry to those who couldn't get at it...not sure I have an explanation for that. Naren, were you trying to download it at work? Regarding the tone, it was done in a hurry with the COSM sounds on my fourtrack, so the sound wasn't nearly as full as I would have liked for that sort of thing. If I do another clip I'll probably spend more time getting a decent tone. Last edited by distressed_romeo; 12-04-2006 at 07:25 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Maybe they've blocked downloads like that?
I think there's three numbers that you have to type in at the bottom of the page before it'll allow a download... |

I've never had a problem downloading anything else at work before... Of course, I can't type in any numbers because I'm taken to the "Forbidden" screen.

Cool, dude. I like the last quarter of it the best. Pretty unique, which is a good thing.
I got it OK on my G4. I just installed the security update, so that should be the same.

sadly, it doesnt work for me either.
It says I don't have a codec or whatever. I've been wanting to hear the "distress of romeo" for a while. Not to mention 'Bright Size Life' is a great tune! |
