songs on the radio

apperantly one of the songs i played on (i played guitar on this song in my friends' band) was on the radio, and not the radio that plays local bands, i mean the radio as in in between puddle of mud and another shitty band. the only thing is that i havent heard it on the radio and i want to know if its true, and if it is, i hope that will help with an endorsment with a guitar company cause everyone loves free gear! also i am starting to play out more.

ecalcagnino is a jewel in the rough
The first time I heard my stuff on the radio was back in 91-92 or so. It was on late night back before all the rock stations could play metal stuff during regular programming.

So, as always, we were listening and right after Anthrax-Among the Living came one of our tunes. I nearly had an an aneurism . I only caught myself on a couple other things a few times but heard about it a bunch more times.

Now with Sirius and XM I hope this happens to a LOT more people. Very cool experience, congrats to you!

Thanks!

That's cool.

What was the band you played on?

Assuming you are asking both of us, but probably not me ...

My band was the REAL, ORIGINAL Alchemist. Not those Aussie bitches that stole our name and infringed on international copyrights. Did that come out bitter?

Anyway. We had some success and then our 20 yr. old egos killed all hope of anything more and we imploded in a very spectacular scene, half of which was played out during a set. hahah, nice. Ahh, to be older and wiser and be able to say, "If only..."

Congrats to you.

We had our stuff once on WCYY radio in Portland, Maine and twice in WRBC in Lewiston. Back in 1999 and 2000 we had 3 songs on the air only because of a guy named Razon Ray plugged us in and we ended up getting a great review in Face magazine. This band is the band Im still in called FloThru.

the band i played with was more like primus meets steve vai (the vai part was what i played, and to quote a friend, "klumpy sounds like steve vai had an orgasm," klumpy being me) and the band is called the phonographers. its just funny that it was played on a more mainstream station because they play mostly nu-metal type stuff (basicly shitty music) but they do occonally play some good stuff.
