Single-coil pickups...

OK, so I have a six-string guitar that needs a new single coil pickup. The pickup config is H-S-H, and it'll be with a 5-way selector. What pickups do you guys recommend? I'm looking for a very clear clean sound from the single coil, no real twangy-ness. Any ideas?

For a classic sound try a Dimarizo Blue velvet. If you want heavy metal in all postions try a Fast Track by Dimarizo...

Have you looked at the Carvin H60N?

It's supposed to be a humbucker in a single coil sized space. I can't seem to find a picture of it though.

The Jackson Dinky Pro came with single coils as well, and I believe that was a fairly metal-sounding guitar.

Might want to look into one of those too.

See if you're able to score a replacement DiMarzio single coil from an Ibanez Jem. I don't use it all that much on its own but it is a real bright & sweet sounding pickup IMHO & very "straty" especially when combined with coil tapped H/buckers. Your dealer should be able to get you one as a spare part from Ibanez.

Seriously though, I think I'm gonna go with the Blue Velvet and see how it is. for only $49 it couldn't hurt! Thanks for the input guys.
