Call for questions: Jasun Tipton of Zero Hour...

...I discussed this with Jasun over the weekend, and he's up for it, so I'm trolling for some questions!

For those not familiar with the band, go here and here. Jasun's YouTube video is also floating around here somewhere, too. I cannot recommend these guys enough, and Jasun's a technique guy (he's a teacher) and a gear head, too...

1) Do you have any technical concepts that are specific to the sevenstring?
2) What tunings do you tend to favour?
3) What do you favour in terms of setup (action, strings etc.) on your guitars?
4) Any tips for getting a great sevenstring tone live and in the studio?
5) What was your initial incentive for picking up the seven?
6) Describe your daily practice regime.

1) Any tips on getting better picking hand discipline? (Jasun's unreal this way)
2) Which 7-string players have influenced you?
3) Do you practice other types of music seriously, and if so do you play them on a 7-string?

1) Your approach to the seven doesn't seem like the 6+1 approach of most seven string guitarists. How were you able to incorporate the extra string so successfully into your playing?

2) How did you and your brother wind up playing guitars from halfway around the world (for those who don't know, Manne is an Italian luthier)?

3) How did having a twin brother affect your musical development, and how did you settle on guitar and bass respectively?

4) Who are your biggest influences, both personally and as a band?

1) How important are eartraining and sightreading to you?
2) Do you teach guitar outside of the band?
3) Any plans for a follow-up to your CFH video?
4) Describe the band's compositional process.

2) Are you a player who sticks his tried and true setup or more of an experimentalist in the studio?
3) Do you have any production strategies yourself or do you leave it to the producer to capture a good sound?
