So I just picked up the current issue of Guitar World and Dragonforce was in it.
God these guys are so fucking lame....... Everytime I see or hear them I want to vomit glass....

And My Chemical Romance is in it too... I feel more glass coming...

I like em. They behave like twats in the magazines but I find their music cool although I cant take more than a song at a time, too much nintendo metal for my liking. I picked up a metal hammer which had a dvd of their 'golden gods' show. Herman Li is a pretty cool guitarist. Sam totman isnt bad but I find Li way better.

I guess they can get pretty boring after one or two songs but I think that the music is pretty sweet on Sonic Firestorm.

Dragonforce put the fun back in metal? I'd like to think the fun never left. These guys are pretty terrible IMO. These guys couldnt hold Gamma Ray's jock strap.

I do think they seem like cool guys and their antics are funny. I just am puzzled how music like that got to be so big here. There's much heavier/catchier/faster powermetal bands out there that actually have good singing, like Gamma Ray. I just really dont think they're good. But for those who are entertained by them, AWESOME, I'd never wanna take that away from you

I like them, but I have to agree, it puzzles me how on earth they get so much more recognition than say, Sonata Arctica, who are just a far better band.

I just think that young players will see these guys and the way they act and get turned of to technical playing. Not to mention their music sucks!!!

your taking them way to literaly. the band as a whole has that joking personality. i garuntee you that they did not actually mean that. and i do agree that thier newer record is pretty boring after a track or two. but their older stuff is really good. try village of the damned or sonic firestorm. both outstanding records. i for one welcome these guys. they have helped bring back the technical side of music after shit bands like korn and limp bizkit made it cool to suck. sure they joke around, but what do you want from them? to act all serious and depresed like most the newer metal acts out there today? its nice to see a band that still knows how to kick ass and have fun at the same time.

It would be fine if they werent so damn cocky like the players from Avenge Sevenfold, its their attitude that bugs me when it comes down to their playing. Everybody's seen the youtube vid of the Avenge guy's solo(you know the one, with the sock on the headstock), and the guitar world's betcha cant play this (the sloppy arpeggio bit, and weak pick tapping one) with Li and the other one right? They think they are the best, and niave/gullible 14year old kids think that too (my little brother is a perfect example), its all fine and good if they have fun and all but they should spend a little more time practising, instead of partying all the time, they would be as great and talented as they proclaim.

its cuz my bro and all of his friends think they are the best and so do alot of 13-16 year olds on youtube, if you reall the comments and profiles. Theyre always into whats hip and trendy.

They're like the children's menu at a resteraunt; it's brightly coloured and looks interesting, but doesn't really taste of anything, and will probably leave you hungry again later.

It's just human nature; most young people will go for the 'sugar-fix' option rather than the one that actually takes time to get into.

my sister (12 years old BTW) listens to green day, good charlette, simple plan and stuff like that
i hate it even more cause our rooms are next to each other and i hear it as long as im not blasting my music (ie when i need to get some sleep during the day so that i can stay awake when i need to since i dont have good sleeping habits)

I try to get my bro and other people into bands like Symphony X and Nevermore, but since the bands are not popular or young or hip, they wont even give it a glance, it just infuriates me, I wont bother turning any people on to shred, I just feel those certain people just dont deserve it
