First music video+tight budget= ...you judge!

Here is my band's first video for the song The Tempest from our latest and first release, In Burning Skies. We are a melodic metal band from Montreal Canada called Karkaos. I asked some fellow metalheads\cinema students if they could do a video for us to use and for them to add to their portefolio and they accepted so this video was on a very tight budget but it turned out AWESOME!

I really dig the song and the video is better than a lot of seen from some signed bands. Sick stuff.

I think you guys did a great job despite a low budget.

Buuuut........

As shallow as this seems, I would seriously have taken advantage of the fact that you have a female vocalist. Nothing crazy, but you know what I mean right? If you guys are a full throttle, full effort kind of deal then seriously exploit it.

Look how many band with shitty music do it and in turn gain additional exposure, your guys music kicks ass too so

Looks pretty good to me. You can always tell when it's a metal band doing a music video because the band is actually playing the song IE the guitarists aren't just approximating finger movements. That's always amused me.

Hahah yeah I learned that The Agonist had a song called The Tempest after we named and recorded it though. Funny thing is that we used to jam in the same building as they are.

As for using the fact we have a female vocalist to promote our band.. I cannot say that it wont help or give a different view of our music to some people that could lead them to like the band for different reasons, I believe that we stand behing pretty good songs and the band makes the music and not only the frontman/woman. Veronica kicks serious ....in ass and I couldnt see us without her in the band. See...I was the vocalist before and she is WAYYY better in every possible point.

Yes it is a Guerilla guitar! I love it but I tend to be really really rough with my live guitars so I mainly use my LTD EC-256VB live.

But to be honest, I could have done without the chains the chick was holding in the beginning. Pointless. Unless she was butt nekkid with them covering her nips, it doesn't do squat.

Totally agree. I don't really wanna feel like I'm looking at softcore porn when all I really wanna see is a kickass music video. Plus women growling while doing sexy things would confuse my boner

Great song, cool video! Maybe your singer could have had a mic and lost the chains. I liked the light behind the drummer, looked cool.
The part of the song around 2:44 was pretty epic, and the video worked as well!

I can't wait to see what you guys can do with a bigger budget, because this was badass. I also want to say I've never really been into melodic, but I really appreciated this. Good luck with everything.

We did the video with students and really cheap stuff but the guys knew what they were doing and I love the result! Cant wait to record the next cd and do another video with these guys! One of our future video will probably be a little less serious as I LOVE videos like the ones The Black Dahlia Murder does!

We also played on Quebec's version of Mtv and I'll post some videos of it as soon as I can get my hands on it!

Music was sick. It has a very "epic" sound. Like if i was some viking or something then this would be a perfect sound track for my quest if that makes any sense. Video was cool too. You vocalist is good, and at the risk of being captain obvious, very very pretty.
