Well this is very sad news indeed..... But after "the age of hell" to me it was very apparent that they were done. I'm sorry to all those whom disagree, but as a very long time fan of Chimaira's their latest release was sub-par at best. You can't loose 3 members (originals at that) and be able to continue on.

Hmmm, don't know what to think after their latest album.

Kamikaze7 I for one value my guitars and gear like people value their kids - ....ing with my guitars or gear is equal to me molesting your kids - you just don't do it if you value your life...

Whiskey_Funeral For that much money I'd just put myself through Luther School and build the damn thing myself.

MaxOfMetal I just love guitars. It doesn't matter how many strings, frets, pickups, or wood used I just dig the .... out of them all.

IMHO opinion they crashed and burned after The Imposibillity of Reason. When Andols left that awesome chemistry they had just dissapeared

Mark should honestly just give it up and try something new. It wouldnt suprise me if Emil Jumped to guitar and they got some other guy in on bass though.

One of the best bands I've seen live, intense vibes during their performances, sad to see them go

Will bad shit never stop happening to Chimaira? Damnit. I really liked The age of hell. I could really see emil switching over to guitar yeah, it's a shame to have him playing bass anyway....

Pretty much. The Impossibility of Reason was great, and I got so much enjoyment outta than CD when it came out. Nothing they have done even comes close to comparing.

Don't say it's over until you see what comes out of it because new beginings lead to new oppurtunities - that goes with anything.

They have been a band for ~15 years and even on this last tour had so much connection on stage it was amazing. They had fun, enjoyed eachother and are still best friends. While I love Chimaira, I can't help but be happy for Matt and Rob if this is what they want to do. It also gets me excited for could come out of it for the rest of the guys as Mark is a great front man, with Sean, Emil and Austin being monsters at their respective crafts. The last album was written in between line ups so these guys did not record or have a part in the writting process.

Why? Mark has been a driving force behind the band since forever.

Emil on guitar for Chimaira though, now THAT excites me. Bring the pain Emil!

Ever noticed how some people are real dicks on the internet, but when they post something involving their band, they make the effort to be nice? Funny that...
