I saw that, too. Fucking

Dude, you remember going out to the clubs right when grunge hit? Like, late 92, early 93? You'd see these slightly older cats, still looking like 1989 with the tight fucking jeans and big hair (and chicks, too), and then all these young punks like us, wearing fucking flannel and shit! It was like they couldn't adapt. It just shifted so fucking fast.

Yep, I lived that dude. I played in this shitty speed metal band when I was ~17 or so. We did about 5 shows, and I was on the edge between wanting to be a shredder and wanting to be in Iron Maiden, so needless to say the change in crowds didn't know what the fuck to do with us. The only time anyone would cheer for us was when we'd cover fuckin' Peace Sells. All the guys in my band were in their early 20s, and I had a white ibanez with pink pickups.

We showed up to check out a club at one point, and the hair and jeans were completely gone, so we threw in the towel. Just as well, we were pretty horrible. I'd have the bassist just lay down some lame bassline and shred my face off over it for 5 minutes at a time with like 3 key changes, and since I was 18, my chops weren't exactly awesome. I could play 2 or 3 scales really fast, so I'd just move them all over the neck while my "singer" would go "YEAAAAAH, WAAAAAAH! OOOOH!".
