All Shall Perish Mega Thread!

Hi,
Didn't found any thread about All Shall Perish so I start one now. Deal with it.

So, do you dig ASP? In my opinion... that's one of the best deathcore bands musically.
Their last 2 albums are the sickest Deathcore shit I've ever heard. Suicide Silence isn't even music compared to All Shall Perish. (any contra-arguments are automatically invalid, eot)

Yo favourite tracks?
Mine: When Life Meant More, Never...Again, Awaken The Dreamers, Divine Illusion, Procession Of Ashes, A Pure Evil.

Do somebody know if they're planning an european tour?

They sound like something between ATD and their older stuff.

New stuff is just downtuned metalcore. Super boring. Nothing stands up to The Price of Existence. That album still rips.

I don't think the new album quite measures up to TPoE but it's miles ahead of ATD on every level.

Also, Francesco > Chris. I'm not a fan of blatant Rusty Cooley worship

I like the stuff off of the new album A LOT. There are really catchy songs and Francesco brings a new flare to it. That being said, it doesn't have quite the same flare as the Chris Storey era albums. Sure Chris is a Cooley rip off but he used it to make the whole "deathcore" thing unique and interesting. Francesco just makes the new album sound a little less unique. Chris>Francesco in my opinion.

Sadly, the new album bores me to tears. Can't even bring myself to listen to it, just sounds like un-inspired recycled riffage.

I'm glad Storey is gone, very bland shred wankary was all he could ever do; Artusato is better at writing a lead that sticks to you.

i listened to the first album once and said NEVER again.

and the new album is equally boring.

ATD had such a catchy sound to it.

So I didnt know until about 3 weeks ago that Jason Richardson used to play for All Shall Perish.

I like their old shit, havent listened to new shit. I will listen and report back.

Hmrph. I love ASP as much as the next guy, but I also love Suicide Silence. ASP doesn't have the ability to be as ball-crushingly heavy, and SS will never have a verse as technical and catchy as Never...Again by ASP.

Fanboi-ism aside, I like TPoE and ATD the most. It's not the same band without Chris, IMO.

I like Suicide Silence too, but only things they can offer are brutality and heavyness.

It's not the lead part that bothers me, god knows Storey could shred with the best of em, he had melodic solos, but you are right. They didn't really stick. A few of them did though, at least for me.

The reason IM sad he left, is he brought a unique riff style into the world of deathcore. Instead of the standard nothing but low string chuggage, he brought in a shred style riffing because of his prior training. It really made ASP special to me, especially seeing as how they were my very first concert.

I dunno, like I said. The new guy just sounds like your standard deathcore guitarist, his lead chops notwithstanding. The point of deathcore isn't lead guitar, its rhythm work, and Storey had some hellish rhythm work. my
