i posted a thread a while back about the Atheist vids.. theres some other ones from Bloodstock and whatnot. Cool stuff... .

Its also worth mentioning that on the God of Emptiness video, they also put World of Shit (The Promised Land) on there.

Those morbid angel clips are kickass. I actually didn't know eric had done shows with them this year.

Cool vids, I really enjoyed the Morbid Angel vids when they were posted a while back, especially Dawn Of The Angry, to have been at that show must've been awesome.

I'll definitely check the Athiest and Nevermore ones out.

I still don't get how poeple can listen to that 'death metal" type of vocal. fucking kills it for me everytime.
I don't know how many bands I've heard playing some kick ass music and as soon as that "Cookie Monster" type of vocalist kicks in it just kills it for me.
At least Warrel Dane actually sings,granted he doesn't sound stellar on these two clips but i've seen enough live clips of him now on youtube where he does sound great.
I don't get it can somebody please explain this type of vocal to me?
If I was auditioning singers and someone showed up and starting puking into the mike like that , his ass would be flying out the door.
when did screaming and growling become "fashionable" as a 'vocal" WTF???

The growling is a good tool for expressing a lot of different feelings that may be hard to express with normal vocals. For example, Opeth, use growling and clean vocals to express different moods. Listen to any song of "My Arms Your Hearse" to get the idea.

Getting used to growls isn't that difficult. I myself didn't like them at all before I started listening to Opeth, and now I think growls are a great tool.
