Song about Porn Addiction

THAT got your attention.

This is the first of 4 small releases of demos for my band. These are mainly for promoters and such, as well as so people can hear what we sound like. We are about to come out of the woodwork to start gigging seriously so this is one of the first steps

This song is actually about porn addiction (I should know I wrote the lyrics).

It's a bluesy, ballsy (pun intended) song written to be easy and fun to play and listen to. It works really well live. It is definitely NOT Djent...

So here's the song

Voyeur by JamesDevlin on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

Our band is called Ex Curia Ex Curia Band | Facebook There are also rough early mixes of 3 other songs there on my soundcloud if you like.

I am sure 80% of the people on this forum won´t post here because they´re afraid to acknowledge that the thread´s title got their attention.

It sounds very chaotic (in a musical sense), which is good. Also, very heavy. I can´t say I like the vocals, but I dig the guitars and the organ (keys)

I'm cool with that.

I don't expect them to post here. If they open it, my work is done... call it brand awareness if you will.

Is it the style of tone of the vocals you don't like?

I like it. I think the singer should stick to cleans though, they sound way better/more confident.

The singer is me

I only recorded the growls this afternoon and probably wasn't ready as I haven't done it for a while... but oh well, it's a demo, that's what they're for

Thanks for listening and for honest input. It confirmed some things I'd been worrying about.

Wow it's actually true, first time I think.

Also, what actually got my attention was the thread starter name. Although I could have just moused over the thread anyway and seen, I've got into the habit of doing that for all strange titled threads on this site anyway.

As expected it was pretty freaking awesome. Not really a whole lot of criticism, it was definitely very memorable. Doesn't sound anything like, but really reminded me of some of the Swedish Death I love so much in that it was kind of simple but just so catchy and powerful at the same time.

I don't think the growls were really bad at all, but definitely weren't the strong point of the song.

Going to listen to the others now.

I like and am now following. A bit of a Down flavour to it. I can just imagine Anselmo singing.

Also, i know a mix is always subjective to the listener but i'd like a bit more snare and kick drum.

Thanks a lot man! You should come to our next gig, and we'll probably do the Mercury Bluescope bandcomp in Wollongong to test out some new material and have a bit of fun (and with a ridiculous amount of luck, win large amounts of cash), so we should be playing in your neck of the woods pretty soon

Also you're right about kick and snare, buuuuuuuut, it's a demo... we put little effort into playing, and little effort into mixing to get it out faster...

Let me know when you're playing next and i'm there.

This isn't a certain image board that shall remain unnamed... posting actual porn is frowned upon. I seriously considered posting some guitar porn though, just to satiate those who need it.

This is a mind...., I'm starting recording for my band's album to day and our song Voyager is about (amongst a thousand and one other things) porn/masturbation addiction (lyrics are attached, if anyone's interested :P)

Listening now, this song kicks royal amounts of ass (your growls sound like Tony Teegarden, and those solos, dat phrasing ), gonna like you guys on Facebook.

Thanks man, glad you like it. The solo's are pretty wicked yes, the guy above you is our guitarist and that's his soloing style, melody and phrasing as opposed to ZOMG LOOK AT MY SPEEDY SHREDDING BRA
