Betcha CAN Play This!

hey all, as it would seen i'm so extraordinarily late to this youtube party
that...well...I can't really think of any clever comment so let's just move on.

yep, this is my first vid and let me say that it's a bit rough. I'm not really
a "video myself and put it up on youtube" kinda person but I thought it was fun to make and definitely a learning experience. I sometimes think that us guitar players take ourselves a bit too seriously sometimes so i had a bit of fun with the editing.

have a look and constructive criticism is always welcome!

Cool idea, but I'd suggest you to change the title to get more views. "Rapaport_Betcha-can-play-this_1.wmv" sure is not attracting.

thanks! I like to watch other player's vids and learn what they have to offer. Some come off kinda dry and a bit too serious so I figured keeping it light would be kinda cool.

If you like I'll shoot you the tab, just pm me. It looks kinda ....ed up but it's not as hard as it looks. All it takes is a bit of patience.

nope, not related to Broderick, though i do wish I had his skills! he's a freakin' beast.

It would be cool to see some videos giving advice on basic things too, like exercises to get your speed up and whatnot. Just basic technique stuff. A lot of people do it but they don't quite target them right, like they'll do an exercise on a basic technique but aim it at musicians of an advanced level. It would be cool to have something more basic for theory noobs like me to get our heads around, and with actual exercises we can then go off and practice ourselves.

Also a rough breakdown of different styles like jazz and funk would be cool, like what sort of chords are most commonly used, scales etc. Just ways of integrating that feel into your playing without getting too heavy into the theory.

Good work, man. I like. The blippy edit over you talking was a bit annoying. It'd work better between things but you said you were just having fun with the edit so feel free to ignore.
