Mixed feelings on this.
On one hand it's cool that they're rocking out at 42 and the oldest member of the band is what... 50? On the other hand some of the choruses sound very arena-tailored and I was reminded of Nirvana/old FF multiple times. More of the same really, but what impressed me most was Taylor Hawkins' energy, he's not lost a single ounce of it! Ever noticed how some people are real dicks on the internet, but when they post something involving their band, they make the effort to be nice? Funny that... |

Did anyone see the Beatles-inspired preformance they did on letterman? They played a ton of songs, all of which are on the bands VEVO. Really cool stuff.
I also think its cool that Pat Schmear is back in the band after leaving so long ago! |

The more I listen to this album the more I like it. The end of Rope on this video was awesome.

Is that the same studio Devin T did his stuff in for that one dvd?
Anyway, the Foo is awesome. Good, honest, American rock and roll. Sometimes thats all a guy needs. I'm watching it now. Eat danger, crap victory. |

This whole record is so good... Between this and the new record from The Haunted, I haven't listened to much else for the last couple of weeks.

I love the new album, Ive never been this into a new FF album before. Every song stands out. Also cool performance, I think more bands should do this when they release a new album.
I also ripped the 1080p version of this video and made my own Wasting Light bonus DVD.

And then to think they all recorded this in Grohl's garage (better equiped than whole SS together, but still) and that the Nirvana bassist specially came over to play the bass for one song.
Gotta love it. |

The double necked bass/guitar thing Pat Smear plays on I Should Have Known is outrageous.
