I don't have a problem with catchy songs so long as they aren't obnoxious and you don't overdose of them.

Songs that just vamp on one three-note riff all the way through drive me nuts. No chord changes, no key changes, nothing of interest. This gets a big "thumbs-down" from me.

I like pop music a lot, but the un-musical hip-hop influence is starting to show in mainstream pop music as everyone has started hiring big-name rap artists to produce their records. Jay-Z was the worst thing to happen to Destiny's Child. Yes, the beats rocked, but the songs became flat and uninteresting.

It was really good, for about 30 seconds or so. I'm 2:24 in to it and am praying for some variation

Justin's last album wasn't bad, surprisingly. At least, the tunes I heard from it weren't.

I can't say I'm nuts about this, for the exact same reason as Darren. Hearing the same musical... theme? over and over is a bit tiring. Interesting production on the vocals, though.
