Ahh. Everyone who's seen my last like 5 threads in this forum knows ive been obsessed with Casiopea/T-SQUARE lately.. but this is so cool I have to make another post.

DRUMTAR! Being played in an actual band setting! How cool is that.

A guy playing drums on a guitar type instrument? I'm surprised you aren't familiar with Futureman from Bela and the Flecktones.

Built his own drumtar type instrument years ago, has been maintaining and modding it every since.

yea not familiar with that cause outside of Wooten, not a fan of the flecktones =[ something about Banjo pisses me off.

Wow, I have often seen a good idea done badly, but this is the first time I have ever seen what I would consider a bad idea done well. You gotta love japan, they're years ahead of us!

... which is kinda sad seeing as how that video is 22 years old

Casiopeia's drummer, Akira Jimbo, is one of the top cats in the world when it comes to Midi triggering drums. Not because he needs to, but rather because he was already so incredible behind the kit that he just had to try new things, especially for his solo material.
