I take it the body's maple? I'm interested If it's not a softwood, Alder would be nice too. I really wanna get parts for a baritone seven
I could use a guitar project.

ah, just did my research on the guitar, sorry not interested anymore. To me basswood has no character, although similar I actually prefer Agathis (in my sixes, but I'm not crazy about that would either).

I'd hardly call Agathis similar.
I'd also challenge your suggestion that Basswood has no character. Oodles more than the diet mahogany that is Agathis.

I actually agree that "diet mahogany" sums up agathis quite well, which is why I said not crazy about it. I much prefer the characteristics of my mahogany bass over my basswood bass, however my basswood bass has much better pickups to make up for it, but the lows still aren't as lively for me. I also have a cheapy basswood guitar and a cheapy agathis guitar and I think the agathis does so much more for it.
So I'm basically saying I have had my experience. (double) What I meant by similer, I meant they both seem to have mushy bass to me, which is why I don't want either in my 7s but I'm ok with agathis in my sixes. but they're still both cheap soft woods so I'd rather not have either. God damn to I rant when I'm tired, but it's so much fun

If this is still up in a month or so I'll take it (and I won't lowball you on it).
The only reason I can't take it now is because I REALLY have to get my car situation worked out, and that'll take about a month. It's exactly what I've been looking for. |
