![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Preamps, preamps, preamps So instead of highjacking Shannon's thread, I thought I'd just start a new one. ![]() If you could, list off all the different preamps you know of. Preferably tube preamps with none to minimal built in effects. I would like to keep my eye out for a Rocktron Pihrana but I'm open to others. Originally, I was looking for a Marshall JMP-1 but 2 people I know said to stay away from those. Although, I kind of dig the Marshally tone so... Oh yeah, if you know, post the average prices they go for. New or used. Also, keep in mind that I prefer a more loose tone. The heavey ass death metaly tone is cool and all, but I don't use it. And yeah, I know about the Triaxis. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I haven't heard much of praise for the JMP's as far as durability either. I think Roger has one... if I'm correct, and he will probably bite in on what it's truely like. Rocktron Pirahna (sp?), as you already said... there's the Rocktron Voodu Valve... and of course: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/home/...p&Nty=1&page=1 * David wasn't much help... |

. the TS100![]() ![]() I play pretty "lightly," so I'll try and post a vid up for this thread, that uses a chunkier, and heavier distortion than my own. ![]() | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Damn that was quite the n00b mistake there Davey. ![]() The carvin preamp isn't tube, and it has a couple built in effects which are less than great. Atleast to me. It's actually a really basic preamp with really not a whole lot of appeal to it. I had one for a little while but ebay'd the sucker. I wouldn't mind giving er another go, see how she is with the carvin ts100 poweramp, but not something i'd want to base my rig around. POOF! |
