![]() ![]() ![]() | Decide For Me Im so crap at making up my mind... and I know you guys LOVE making choices soooo heres your choices. What amp out of these would you buy, I know they're probably all crap but there the only amps I can seem to find that will do what I want them to do in my price range. I desperatly need an amp so I can jam with freinds and start a band, so it mainly just has to be loud enough to play in a band situation. |

![]() | I'd say save up and buy something a LITTLE better. I mean the SpiderII head/cab is like $700 so probably around $1400 aus, but it'll have a lot more power and a noticeably better sound because of the larger power section and sealed 4x12. However, I'd look into some used stuff in your country. I don't know what used gear goes for over there, but you can find some sweet deals. What type of music do you play mostly |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Mostly metal... like Pantera... Nevermore... Meshuggah... Im starting a band that plays some serious crunchy Fear Factory style music. Im NOT new to guitar and I can tell good tone from bad tone, unfortunatly for me. I just rarely get enough money to upgrade and this is actually probably my first major upgrade, to a new guitar and amp. Hahah after you said that I decided to go on ebay to look for some line-6's, theres a spider-2 head and cab on there going really cheap ATM and its pretty local I might even be able to pick it up. Hmmm should I trust a used amp and ebay? Last edited by neon_black88; 05-14-2006 at 01:58 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

![]() | hmm..... I'd say check ebay and locally for a used 5150/5150II or if you can find a deal on a newer 6505. Frankly that will slay the pants off of that Spider II for metal/hardcore. The peavey stuff pretty much lasts forever, too. They're very reliable. or see if you can snag a used HD147. That's a BIG upgrade from the Spider while still giving you the versatility/tons of options that comes with owning a line 6. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Items like that rarely go up on ebay and are usually still pretty expencivve, i was lucky to find that spider and its pretty tempting and I might get it pretty cheap. How much would you expect to pay for a used spider 2 amp and head? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/LINE-6-SPIDER...QQcmdZViewItem heres the link BTW |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If that's the sound you're going for, I'd say definately don't get the Marshall. I don't know about down there, but up here, you can get a Crate amp pretty cheap that will have a decent crunch tone that cuts through the mix well for pretty cheap. Problem I have with Crate is the ice-pick-in-the-ear highs. Out of what you listed, I'd lean towards the line six. |
