As for pickups, a lot of guys recommend the Duncan JB in mahogany coupled with a Duncan Jazz or '59 in the neck. I'm considering trying that combo in my S7420. As for Dimarzio's, avoid the Tone Zone 7 like the plague. From personal experience I know it's about the worst pickup for a mahogany 7 going. It sounded worse than the Duncan Designed crap it replaced, and that's really saying something. A PAF7 is a nice, thick sounding pickup for rhythm work in either position in mahogany. | ||
