![]() | Noise Gate recommendations needed I recently puchased a Marshall JMP-1, a Mesa 2:90 Simul Class slave and a TC G-Major. I was hoping I could use the noisegate in the G-Major, but it just doesn't do the trick. I play Thrash and Death Metal and often play riffs full of sudden breaks and therefore I need a really effective noisegate. At the same time I also play lots of leads and I would therefore need to be able to control the noisegate, so that I in lead situation can reduce the noisegate effect. I totally hate it when noisegate chops of notes when playing lead! Can you guys recommend a good rack noisegate for this purpose? I have been reading a lot about Rocktron Hush, but dunno if that's the best for me. |

I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways, we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've had good luck with Alesis and Carvin noisegate/compressors. I've always like having them both together,,,one sort of goes with the other for me. ~A |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I've heard that the ISP Decimator comes highly, highly recommended. There's a rackmount version aswell, take a look here. It's supposed to be the best, most trasnparent noise gate you can get. |

ya, I've got one, really does the trick...I've got the pedal version, but I'm moving to a somewhat rack-based setup, so I may try out the rack unit | |

![]() | Yep, ISP Decimator. I have one too and it's awesome. Does the job perfectly. I have a review up in the review forum that you can check out. Just do a search in there. Rev. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | That Rackmount Decimator is an expensive little puppy though! I think it's about $400 but if you want the best ya gotta pay for it. I wouldn't recommend the hush, I found it to suck a bit of tone. Some people like it so still try it for yourself. |

![]() | I went for the pedal as, like you said, the rack is insanely expensive, and the pedal does the job pefectly and only cost $119. Rev. |
