Please Help Me!!!!!!

Ok a friend of mine is looking at an Ibanez rg 7 string XL hardtail (27 inch scale) and wants to know if its gonna be alot harder to play on than say a 7621 (thats what I have and I love it!). Hes into Dream Theater Symphony x type stuff so thats what he hopes its capable of.

So playability/feel wise is it gonna make a diffrence? Is this guitar more suited for rythym playing than lead playing?

no, it'll be very similiar in playability. The reason the guitar has the extended scale has more to do with getting a detuned string to stay taught than it really does with playability.

I have the same guitar, and it does take some getting use to, and it is more suited for rhythm than lead playing, although you can still play leads on it. The extra scale length is worth it, trust me.
