![]() | TC Electronics G-Major Anyone have one? Likes, dislikes? I'm considering selling all my pedals and getting one of these with a midi floorboard. I'm tired of tap dancing, plus the G-Major will change channels for me too based on what the preset is programmed for! Any other suggestions in the $300-$600 range, used or new? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I own one, wouldn't change it for the world. I do the channel switching meself, its great to have a clean sound with nothing on, and then change to distortion with slight reverb and chorus on with one button press, and all with in my opinion way better tone than modellers can muster. The only downside is the Flanger on it is a bit metallic for my liking, but if I use extreme modulation effects I tend to use phaser anyway. The delays are great, the reverb and chorus are astounding, the pitch shifting is brilliant, the compressor is pretty good as well, it could be improved but I only use it every now and then for clean anyway. All in all a highly recommended unit. I've not really tried any other effects unit, but the fact is none had the features I wanted except the G Major anyway, so I went with it. |

![]() ![]() | Digitech made some awesome effects processors a while back, the rack mounted ones. They quit making them, but they are great units. Stuff like the 2101, Valve FX, 2112, all those rack preamp/processors are really cool. I used a Valve FX as a preamp and processor through a power amp into a 2x12 cab before I got my PODxt. You can get them for good prices on ebay nowadays. Actually, I'd sell you my Valve FX pretty cheap if you're interested. If you want some more info on it I'll answer any questions you may have, and there's quite a few reviews on it over on HC. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have it on a Finger Picking patch as its referred, its one of the factory presets that sounded good with my piezo loaded acoustic. No problems changing from it though, works as normal. I tend not to use the compressor though as I'm trying to be able to control dynamics with my hand rather than my settings, its just good on the Piezo stuff for the simple reason it smooths the high end harshness you tend to get with Piezo pickups. |
