G-Major & Channel Switching
I was looking over the G-Major user manual and found this:
"Changing your sound from a crisp clean dry rhythm sound to an overdriven lead sound, will often involve channel switching of your preamp or combo in addition to changing your effects preset. To be able to switch amp-channels via MIDI the investment of a separate MIDI switching system is often implied. Not with the G-Major. With the built in Relay Switching on the G-Major you are able to switch between up to 4 channels on you Preamp/Combo." Does anyone know if this will actually work with a 5150? |

Easy as pie to use...when I had my G-Major I had it switch channels and turn the fx loop on and off all the time on my 5150. All you need is a 1/4" stereo to 1/4" stereo patch cord, which will let you switch both the channels and turn the loop on/off.

i may be posting a similar thread in the future, with regards to changing the channels on my Nomad via my yet-to-arrive G-Major. is it pretty easy? i know that when i bought my Nomad, the guy gave me a cord that he said i could use to switch the channels with. it has a male 1/4 jack on one end, and a midi plug on the other.
I have a radical idea. The door swings both ways,
we could reverse the particle flow through the gate. We'll cross the streams. |

It is easy. I don't remember what button the settings were under, but it was a matter of changing a couple parameters for each patch. My cleans would have the loop on and the channel set to rythym, my rythym tones would have the loop off and channel set to lead, and my lead tones would have the loop on and channel set to lead. You can also set it up to change these options via CC if you want too.

Thanks for the answer aldog1330, just what I wanted to hear. I’ve been thinking about getting an effects processor for awhile and this feature makes the G-major particularly interesting. Well, there would be one less thing to buy anyway lol.

I used my G Major to switch channels on my three channel dual Recto for a couple of years like that. I've also used it to switch channels on a Mk IV. |
