![]() | In the market for a good, cheap 4x12 right now my amp is a Peavey Triumph 60 1x12, one of the nicest amps I've ever played through. for the unenlightened, it's what they dumbed down to make the valveking. 2 OD channels, nicest clean i've ever heard from a peavey, etc. but, the single speaker is kinda meh for the shows we've been playing, and I need a real cab. I was using a peavey cab before I moved, i think it's the one fro the 5150/6505 (metal grate, Non-pointy peavey logo), but past that I don't know what to look for. are there any particular qualities in a speaker cab that should be looked for? Am i even making the right move here? --- "Appreciating the beauty in music fast enough to blow mortals' faces off." ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | come on guys, there is no economic situation. It's how in what you believe. Yeah, gas is high but who gives a fuck. took me 30 bucks to fill my car a couple months ago, now it takes 40 bucks. Am I going to fret over 10 bucks? F-no, I just went and spent 40 on tubes. yeah, we're feeling the seeming crunch, however if you cast judgement and lay conviction on what you think is the truth, you basically blind yourself from a whole part of reality. This is what the news media and government loves to do, suck you into the matrix. Now WTF is this thread about? Oh cabs? LOFL. I've had many cabs, shit ones, good ones, gigged, not gigged, etc. Unless your dropping the fucking thing off loading docks they aren't going to break apart IMO. Maybe the guy in the previous post has had different experiences, and I firmly believe that each of us actually resides in a parallel universe where the holographic matrix intertwines and once in a while cross, like in this very thread. So I'm not looking for an argument my brother. Perhaps your universe is one where many a cab is flimsy. Now I will plug Lopo line cabs. Look at the reviews, not just on www.lopoline.com or harmony central, but everywhere. I have not read one bad word. I have 2 cabs from them, 2x12 and 4x12. They are hand built in California and I'm a fucking nit-picker. There is not 1 single thing wrong with any of these cabs. They answer all emails quickly. Avatar, no offense, gave me the run around about ordering a cab. They don't come with castors either and I believe the lopos are a tad cheaper. 4X12 Empty Guitar Speaker Cabinet Black with Silver Grill .topImage { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; width: 200; height: 10px; } .middleImage { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; width: 200; } .bottomImage { margin: 0px; padding: 0px; width: 200; height: 10px; } div.option { text-align: left; margin-left: 15px; } .buttons { padding-bottom: 5px; } Notes: See full size photo Price:$298.80Availability:in stock Prod. and by ignoring the fact we're in/headed toward a recession you'll just become a willing participant in the downfall of America, my advise stop watching movies that make you paranoid. no offense intended. yeah 2 of my buddy's cabs did. they really can handle the road as well as all others. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | *Off topic* Economic situation? We are going into a recession (meaning companies will turn less PROFITS. Not "loose" money (as in no one makes money), or go bankrupt. *on topic* Avatar is a good place to start. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | For low dollar and since it's a peavey, I'd look for an old peavey cab with the 85's in it which you can find cheap. I have a couple Avatar 212's and they are great as well. As for the Marshall comments, I've known folks that have had them bust up pretty bad. If you get one just open it up and make sure that its made of plywood and not particle board.. |
